Our ‘Saffron, Wine and Thalasso’ (Massages) Tour will take you from the sea to the sand dunes as you explore the hidden gems of Morocco. This is a tour for road warriors as we will travel by road to all locations.
Sip and taste the most expensive spice in the world, the gourmet spice saffron, which you will find throughout the country. Pack light, in order to carry back wine from the second largest wine producing country in Africa and the Arab world. DAY 1
Arrive in Casablanca & Transfer to Errachidia
Thursday – March 20, 2025
After landing at Casablanca Airport (CMN) – Mohammed V Airport, you will transfer to Errachidia.
After your arrival to Errachidia, your private Away to Africa driver will transport you to your accommodation. Unpack, then unwind with a welcome cocktail and dinner.

DAY 2
Sand Dunes & Camel Ride in Merzouga
Friday – March 21, 2025
After breakfast, drive two hours to Merzouga through the desert landscapes of Wadi Ziz.
In the Erg Chebbi, a pure desert experience awaits you: admire the sunset on camelback amidst the sand dunes that are up to 100m high.

DAY 3
Tafilalet Region & Tinghir
Saturday – March 22, 2025
Get up early (optional!) to watch the shadow play of the sunrise over the desert and the dunes. After breakfast, you will travel three hours to the the vast palm grove of the Tafilalet region.
We will visit a mausoleum and museum to learn more of the culture of the inhabitants of southern Morocco.
Upon your arrival in Tinghir, you can admire the famous palm grove and the Todra gorges, deeply cut into the rock and very winding.

DAY 4
Ait Ben Haddou
Sunday – March 23, 2025
Today you will depart Tinghir for Ait Ben Haddou via the oasis town of El Kelaa des Mgouna and Ouarzazate.
Arrive at your destination, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most beautiful ksars in southern Morocco where many famous films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Babel, Gladiator, Jesus of Nazareth and more recently Game of Thrones have been filmed.

Marrakech
Monday – March 24, 2025
Today you will depart Ait Ben Haddou over the magnificent mountain landscape of Tischka, through the picturesque Ounila Valley and Telouet, ending in Marrakech.

Hot Air Balloon Ride
Tuesday – March 25, 2025
This morning you will go on a Hot Air Balloon ride and afterwards enjoy an improvised Berber breakfast in a caidale tent.

Ourika Valley with Anima Garden and Saffron Paradise
Wednesday – March 26, 2025
Start your morning with a visit to the Anima Gardens: the three-hectare botanical installation by universal artist André Heller.
Proceed to the nearby Paradis du Safran, an organic garden with around 100 different plants, where you will learn all about the precious saffron, the aromatic and medicinal plants and Berber remedies.

Argan Oil, Wine Tasting & Transfer to Essaouira
Thursday – March 27, 2025
Today you will depart Marrakech for Essaouira, the blue and white pearl of the Atlantic and one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco.
On the way, you will stop at a cooperative for argan oil and other products made from the fruit of the gnarled argan tree and also enjoy a wine tasting at Val d’Argan.

Essaouira
Friday – March 28, 2025
This morning you will witness the fish auction that takes place in the bustling harbor, then tour the town visiting the port bastion, old alleyways, houses built partly of sandstone, galleries, Sqala of the Kasbah, and the craft stalls where the famous inlays are made from thuja or lemon wood.

Return To Marrakech

After breakfast, make this three hour road trip back to Marrakech, affectionately known as the “Pearl of the South”

Today you will discover more of the “Pearl of the South”, as you visit the Koutoubia Mosque (from the outside), Bahia Palace, Medersa Ben Youssef and much more.
In the afternoon, you will visit a Hammam where you will receive a scrub and full body massage.

Depart Mama Afrika
Monday – March 31, 2025
Take time and reflect on your visit to Mama Afrika while enjoying a signature, departure breakfast. Afterwards we will head to the airport, Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK) for your departure home.
