South Tour

Tuesday – September 10, 2024

Today you will visit: Grand Bassin: A sacred lake where many pilgrims visit to collect its water as offering.

Black River Gorges: The largest national park in Mauritius.

Rhumerie de Chamarel: To learn about the fermentation and distillation of agricultural rums.

Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth: Created by volcanic rocks that cooled at different temperatures offering hillsides of patterns of color.

DAY 5

Ile aux Bénitiers

Thursday – September 12, 2024

You will be headed to the West Coast of Mauritius for a full day on board a speed boat.

You will have the opportunity to see dolphins in their natural habitat and swim alongside them, and go snorkeling in the lagoon.

On your way back, you will make a pit stop at Crystal Rock for a dip.

DAY 6

Floreal & Curepipe

Friday – September 13, 2024

Morning tour of Curepipe, the 2nd largest city of the island also known as “La Ville Lumière” (“The Town of Light”) since it was the first town in the island to run on electricity. Make a stop at Trou aux Cerfs, a crrater of the dormant volcano offering a 360 degree panoramic view of the island.

You shall then transfer to Voilier de L’Océan in Floreal, to visit the ship models factories and shop at the textile and diamond cutting factories.

Saturday – September 14, 2024

Port-Louis / China Town / Treasure Hunt in Pamplemousses

Sunday – September 15, 2024

Begin your journey in Port Louis where you will explore the museum, Central Market, and local art.

Then proceed to the Pamplemousses Village through a treasure hunt to familiarize with the locals and discover their history. End your tour with lunch at The Table D’hôte of Tante Athalie to enjoy local authentic delicacies.

DAY 9

Souillac Tour on an Electro bike

Monday – September 16, 2024

Today you will tour: Place du Moulin, Batelage of Grand River South-East, Church of Saint-Jacques, Telfair Gardens, Gris-Gris cliffs at La Nef, La Roche Qui Pleure (The Weeping Rock)

Upon the return journey, you will have a local cooking experience with the dynamic Mrs Mala; before heading to St Felix, for a snack, then Riambel public beach and ending your journey in the Bel Ombre Sugar Estate.

Depart Mama Africa
