DAY 1
Arrive to Nigeria and Unwind
Sunday – December 20, 2024
After landing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, your private Away to Africa driver will transport you to your lodging in Lagos.
Upon arrival, Away to Africa will welcome you to the Motherland with authentic, Nigerian cuisine before you settle in for the evening.

DAY 2
Nike Art Gallery & Lekki Conservation
monday – December 21, 2024
Enjoy your first day in Nigeria as we visit the Nike Art Gallery, boasting a unique collection of about 8,000 diverse artworks from various Nigerian artists.
Afterwards we will adventure into the 78-hectare Natural Resource Conservation in Lekki.

DAY 3
Cultural Dance Class
Tuesday – December 22, 2024
Prepare for an intriguing day on the road where you will visit a cultural dance troupe on the mainland of Lagos.
Afterwards, you will visit a couple of markets to shop for garments, artwork and souvenirs.
Enjoy dinner with an option to spend the night out on the town.

DAY 4
Explore Olumo Rock
Wednesday – December 23, 2024
Take a train ride to the city of Abeokuta to explore the iconic Olumo rock, which played a major role during the Egba war.
Afterwards, you will visit the Kuti Heritage Museum, to experience how the Adire fabric is made at the Itoku market.
Later on, explore the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential library – a modern digital experience curating the life and times of Nigeria’s former president who lives just atop of the museum.

DAY 5
Fela, Museums & Cooking Classes
Thursday – December 24, 2023
Prepare for an unforgettable day in Lagos as we travel to a few museums to soak in the history and culture of Nigeria.
Next learn more of the godfather of Naija as we spend time at the Fela Kuti Shrine.
End the day spending time with a few Mamas of the community for our cooking class. Afterwards, exchange stories as you sit with new and old friends over a traditional dish.

DAY 6
Badagry & Palace Visit
Friday – December 25, 2024
Today you will travel to Gberefu Island, a major slave port opened in 1473 during the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade, to visit the Point of No Return which is symbolised by two poles slightly slanted towards each other and facing the Atlantic Ocean.
Afterwards, you shall visit Mobee palace, Heritage Museum and the First Storey building.

DAY 7
Life’s a Beach
Saturday – December 26, 2024
Today is all about rest and relaxation as we travel to a local beach and beach club.
Grab a cocktail, book, or some much needed time to do absolutely nothing.
