After landing at the Kotoka International Airport (ACC), your private Away to Africa driver will transport you to your lodging in Accra. Accra is the capital, the largest city, and the administrative, communications, and economic centre of Ghana. Located on the Gulf of Guinea near the Atlantic Ocean, the city sits partly on a cliff and spreads north over the Accra plains. Upon arrival, you will meet with a tailor to take your sizes and provide a selection of garments for you to choose outfits to be made personally for you. Afterwards, you will have a welcome dinner at an authentic Ghanaian or rooftop restaurant.

Today you will spend your day traveling to Cape Coast where you will start the day at Kakum National Park, walking on a canopy walkway in the middle of a rainforest. Afterwards you will visit Cape Coast Castle. Listen to stories tracing the steps of African ancestors before their brutal voyage to the West. The naming ceremony with drumming and dancing will follow. You will be given a local Ghanaian name and become part of the community while taking part in the ceremonial activities:
