DAY 1
Akwaaba Ghana!
Tuesday – December 24, 2024
After landing at the Kotoka International Airport, your private Away to Africa driver will transport you to your lodging in Accra.
Upon arrival, you will meet with a tailor to take your sizes and provide a selection of garments for you to choose outfits to be made personally for you.
Afterwards, you will have a welcome dinner at an authentic Ghanaian or rooftop restaurant.

DAY 2
Dance Class & Beach Day
Wednesday – December 25, 2024
Today you will spend the day getting acclimated to the Ghanaian lifestyle.
First, you will start your morning with drumming and an African Dance Class before spending the remainder of your day on the beach relaxing.

Pan Africanism in Accra
thursday – December 26, 2024
Today you will explore the streets of Accra to indulge in Ghana’s history and some shopping. Travel to the W.E.B. Dubois Memorial Centre for Pan African Culture to learn of the Pan African influence throughout the Diaspora. Your tour will include a trip to:

Arts in Accra & AfroFuture Festival II
Sunday – December 29, 2024
Today is all about Art in Accra as we travel to a few art studios of local Ghanaian artistes.
Afterwards you will attend AfroFuture for a second day.

DAY 7
Cape Coast, Kakum National Park & Naming Ceremony
Monday – December 30, 2024
Today you will spend your day traveling to Cape Coast where you will start the day at Kakum National Park, walking on a canopy walkway in the middle of a rainforest.
Afterwards you will visit Cape Coast Castle. Listen to stories tracing the steps of African ancestors before their brutal voyage to the West.
The naming ceremony with drumming and dancing will follow. You will be given a local Ghanaian name and become part of the community while taking part in the ceremonial activities.

DAY 8
Cooking Class, Batik & NYE Celebrations
Tuesday – December 31, 2024
Cook a traditional Ghanaian meal and print your own batik fabric as a souvenir.
We will spend the early evening having dinner at a rooftop overlooking the city of Accra. This evening you will have the option to bring in the New Year along the ocean or at a private party.
