Day 1 | Namkelekili Mzantsi (Welcome to South Afrika!)

After landing at Cape Town International Airport, Arrive in Africa and unwind. Your private Away to Africa driver will transport you to your beautiful lodging with the breathtaking backdrop of the Mother City, Cape Town.

You will have the option to unwind and take in South Africa’s fresh air and enjoy a nice glass of wine with a homemade South African meal.

Day 2 | Robben Island & Community Outreach Bicycle Ride through Langa

Start your morning with a cultural excursion as we visit Robben Island and Robert Sobukwe Memorial. Afterwards, we will go on a bicycle tour throughout Langa Township. We will enjoy a heartwarming meal while listening to music and the history of Langa.

Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to spend a couple of hours in the afternoon volunteering in the community of Cape Town through our affiliate community outreach program.

Day 3 | Table Mountain & Wine Tasting

Get ready to embark on an unforgettable adventure as we take a cable car up one of the oldest mountains in the world, Table Mountain. You will have the option of taking a brief tour on the top of the mountain or take time to yourself to enjoy the view.

Don’t forget we will have a personal tour guide who will take pictures of you and the views throughout your entire journey so feel free to get lost in the view!

Relax, dine, and sip on South Africa’s wine of your choice as we tour two of South Africa’s wine vineyards before we head back to Cape Town for dinner.

Away to Africa Zulu Cultural Tour

Day 4 | Depart to Durban/ Shakaland & Zulu Village

If you choose to extend your tour to Durban, we will catch an early morning flight to Durban . We hope you are ready to learn of Zulu culture!Today we will travel to the Shakaland, the same place where Shakazulu was filmed.We will spend the day learning Zulu history, listening to live music and drums, dancing and enjoying a hearty lunch.

Afterwards, we will head to town, relax and braai with some new friends.

Pilnesburg national Park

Day 5 | Hluhluwe Umfolozi Big 5 Game Reserve

Today we will depart early morning to drive to a Private Game Resort/Safari.At the Reserve you can view the Big 5; Lion, Buffalo, Rhino, Leopard and Elephant.

Afterwards, you will enjoy dinner and rest for the evening.

Away To Africa - Day 7 - Moboneng Market

Day 6 | Journey through Jo’burg

Enjoy a breakfast this morning as this will either serve as the end of your trip or a continuation to Johannesburg.If you choose to continue to Johannesburg, we will take an early flight to Johannesburg.

Upon our arrival into Johannesburg we will take a late afternoon City & Public Artwork through Maboneng.After getting some rest, enjoy an evening of delicious local food and jazz.

Afterwards, we will go to our lodging to relax and head out where we will experience Art, Culture and a traditional dinner at a Jazz lounge in Maboneng.

Day 7 | Revolution in Jo’burg

We will take a tour in the heart of Jo’burg, Soweto. Learn about the history of Apartheid at the Apartheid Museum and then head to Soweto to explore Hector Pieterson Museum and Nelson Mandela’s home.

Enjoy lunch on Vilakazi Road where we will enjoy some nice music and vibes.

Spend the evening having dinner on Fox Street before heading out with the option of jazz or reggae music for the night.

Day 8 | Nirox Sculpture Park

Enjoy the morning to yourself and meet everyone for an afternoon walk and lunch in the Nirox Sculpture Park.

Tonight we will have dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Yeoville to enjoy a traditional meal.

Afterwards, you will head back to your lodging in Maboneng with an option to spend your last evening in Africa on a rooftop overlooking the city.

All American, Canadian, British and Jamaican passport holders who possess a valid, up to date Passport which does not expire within the six (6) months from date of travel, can enter South Africa without a Visa.

Required Vaccinations: Yellow Fever Vaccination is not required to enter into South Africa unless you are departing from a country that requires the Yellow Fever Vaccination.
