Zanzibar, or the ‘black coast’, is a Tanzanian archipelago off the coast of East Africa. Zanzibar consists of a variety of small islands and two larger ones. The main island of Zanzibar is identified as Unguja or Stone Town and the second large island is known as Pemba.

Zanzibar City is the Capital of Zanzibar and home to Stone Town, a World Heritage Site and historically referenced as the trade center for the East African Slave Trade.   In addition to Zanzibar’s beautiful beaches, Stone Town is known for its winding lanes, carved doorways and 19th-century landmarks such as the House of Wonders, a former sultan’s palace.

Get ready to change your perspective on life as we travel to the top of Table Mountain and also to the heart of the Soweto Uprising, home to Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu and the Hector Pieterson Museum.
